The activities of Kamakura for inscription on the World Heritage List started in 1992 when it was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List as "Temples, Shrines and other structures of Ancient Kamakura".
In 2004, Kamakura City defined a new concept "Kamakura, Home of the Samurai", and began the full-fledged preparation for the inscription from 2007 in cooperation with Yokohama City and Zushi City where component parts are located and with Kanagawa Prefecture.

・Organized "Drafting Committee for the Nomination Dossier for the Inscription of "Kamakura, Home of the Samurai" by selected expert archaeologist and historian, and started the preparation work. |

The 1st International Meeting: Defined the subjects to be coped toward the inscription. |
